Ron Johnson

Ron Johnson is Wisconsin’s senior United States Senator. He was involved in the attempt to transmit fake electoral ballots to then-Vice President Mike Pence on January 6, 2021, and was also in touch with the architects of the scheme in the preceding weeks. Johnson is known as a strong supporter of former President Trump as well as one of the most conservative members of the Senate. He holds fringe views on issues including climate change, the covid-19 pandemic, abortion, and gun regulation, among other issues.

Johnson was apprised of the fake elector scheme from its earliest inception and was enlisted to try to convey the fake electors’ Wisconsin “ballots” to Vice President Pence on January 6, 2021.

Johnson was reelected to the U.S. Senate for a third six-year term in 2022. He serves on the Senate’s Committees on the Budget, on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and on Finance. He has denied wrongdoing in or meaningful knowledge of the fake elector scheme.
