Wisconsin Voter Alliance and Ron Heuer v. Kristina Secord

No. 2023-AP-36

On May 23, 2024, Law Forward filed an amicus brief on behalf of Disability Rights Wisconsin and the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources in Wisconsin Voter Alliance v. Secord to ensure voting rights for all citizens, including those with disabilities and older adults in care facilities, are protected.

This case is about inappropriate attacks on the right to vote of certain citizens. Upholding voting rights is not only a constitutional imperative but also essential for preserving the integrity of our democratic system. Every voice deserves to be heard, and every vote matters in shaping the future of our communities and our nation. The court should prioritize these fundamental rights and the protections afforded by law to individuals under guardianship.
